# Link by Maxint

> Link, by Maxint, lets people choose how their bank accounts connect to the apps they use, and shows who has access, what data is shared and what happens to their credentials. Developers integrate once and can offer Link's own connection (Link Direct) or third-party providers (Plaid, Stripe Financial Connections, Teller, GoCardless Bank Account Data) through one API.

Key facts:

- Link is live at https://link.maxint.app. This website is https://link.maxint.com.
- Link is a product of Maxint Inc. (https://maxint.com). Link is not a bank. It is also called Maxint Link.
- Link Direct connects through a bank's own production APIs (the ones its app and online banking use). It does not scrape web pages. A Link Direct connection does not mean the bank has partnered with or endorsed Link.
- Link Direct works with banks that offer online access, outside the UK and EEA. New banks are added on request. In the UK and EEA, bank accounts connect through open banking, today via GoCardless Bank Account Data.
- With Link Direct, sign-in details are exchanged for an access token and are not kept by default. Some banks offer no way to renew access; for those, Link keeps credentials (encrypted) only after telling the person and getting their acknowledgment.
- People connecting their own accounts never pay. Apps and businesses pay per active connection per month; connections that aren't working aren't billed.
- Link reads data. As the service works today, it does not initiate payments or transfers.
- Link is in scope of Maxint's SOC 2 Type II report (trust center: https://maxint.trustshare.com/).
